A Note from Pastor Cory
My journey of church planting started in 2013 in the city of Sumner, WA. I had been serving as youth pastor at the church I grew up in and loved serving the students in our community. Ministry was life-giving for my wife and our growing family. There was a consistent stirring in our hearts to ‘Go’ and make more disciples and after being introduced to the idea of church planting, there was an immediate peace in following God’s call to do so. I served in the role of Lead Pastor at that church plant for nearly 10 years - it was a sweet season of learning, growing, and preaching the Word book-by-book, verse-by-verse. After much prayer, counsel, and encouragement to partner with A29 to one day plant more Bible-believing-Jesus-loving churches, I resigned my post as lead pastor. We then started attending Gospel Life Church in Puyallup, WA. Since that transition in 2021, I entered into eldership and became a church plant resident with the aim to come ‘back home’ and plant a church in Bonney Lake! As Bonney Lake is continuing to grow in number of residents, my prayer and hope is that Home Church would be used by Jesus to grow HIs Kingdom here. God has reinvigorated a passion in my heart for the city that my family lives in. We believe God has already laid a gospel foundation in Bonney Lake, and we pray that He would do greater things for His glory!
I’d invite you to join us in praying for the city of Bonney Lake. Pray that the Gospel would be proclaimed boldly and that we see God save the lost! Please pray for Home Church; that we would be a local body that would reflect Jesus’ love and engage our communities in all we do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Expanding the vision...
We want to be a church that feels like home - where all are welcome, all are family in the body of Christ, and all are loved deeply in truth and deed. Home Church is a Bible-Believing-Jesus-loving church that exists to boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ not just on Sunday mornings, but as we disciple each other in our 'home groups' throughout the week, and as we engage our communities through evangelism partnerships and individually to our neighbors and other community groups. Jesus will be boldly proclaimed in all we say and do!
Where we are headed...
As we look to launch Home Church in September 2025, we are fervently praying for God's wisdom and blessing on His Church. The Lord has been so gracious and faithful to us in this process; From providing a place to gather and financial resources, to creating new relationships for support and mentorship, and so many other ways! Starting a church-plant can be one of the most beautiful ways to see God's people be united, working toward the same mission. Everything is stripped down, raw, and simplified in a way that gets our focus on why the Church exists - it's not about the building, nor the programs or music - it's all about proclaiming Jesus so others may experience the freedom only found in Him! We want to see Bonney Lake transformed by the power of Jesus Christ!
We are looking forward to meeting you and continuing conversations with those He is calling to come be on mission with us at Home Church.
